Backroads

October 31st-November 7th
Shadow and I parted ways and I went back to work. Another strong cold front came through with winds that rocked Beulah as he and Judy made their way to Wylie, TX. From Denver CO. The 800 mile journey was long and uneventful with few views and little cell signal.
He arrived a week before I came home from work which was just enough time to battle and recover from a sinus infection.
Our week together in Wylie was full of fun with his son, daugther-in-law, and grandsons. A mixture of soccer practice and games, swim lessons, ice-skating, family photos, and of course trick-or-treating. We also made time to see our trail friends Geriatric and Flame for dinner and enjoyed catching up with their adventures.
With Wylie, Tx. In our rear view mirror, we headed back east to Elizabethtown, Ky. and Nashville, Tn. It's amazing the things you miss by not taking backroads across the US. Before entering Arkansas we passed two travelers pulling a rickshaw style luggage cart with an orange cat strapped to the back. Did anyone know that between Omaha, AR and Naples, AR is where you can find the world's largest spotted donkey herd? I didn't think so. This time of year in the Mississippi delta the road less travelled is littered with puffy white cotton balls that have been left over from the harvest. All in all it was a very cool trip.
