We headed out the following morning to the Pacific side of Baja to Todos Santos. A fun part about driving in Baja are the road roller coasters. Sometimes when you get to the top of a hill, you can't see the bottom. The road is so steep that you strain your neck trying to see over the hood. If you hit them too fast your stomach rises to the throat...like a roller coaster.
Halfway across the peninsula we came to the old tiny town of El Triunfo. A rouge speed bump with no warning signs about a 1/4 mile from town will make you slam on your brakes. They don't mess around when it comes to speed control. The town is famous for their old church, pottery, a piano museum, and delicious bakery. We made a quick stop to purchase a giant loaf of fresh bread before continuing.
The town of Todos Santos caters to many different types of people. The surfers for the waves, the hippies for the art, and the tourist from Cabo. There are tons of restaurants and like the rest of our culinary experience here, the food was awesome. We camped North of town at a surfer beach and met up with the other 2 couples we met in Loreto. The 6 of us had a wonderful few days. Morning coffee while watching the surfers, miles of dirt roads for running, tasty lunches in town and dinner over the grill on the beach watching the sunsets.
We spotted a few whales hanging out near the beach. It's so crazy to see an animal that large hanging out in the surf. You can also find places to see the release of sea turtles in the evenings. Unfortunately none were hatching while we were there.
Remember that wonderful bread I had mentioned earlier? Well, i had made the mistake of leaving it outside on the table while watching the surfers one morning. Upon my return, I found an empty bag on the ground torn apart. Nothing but crumbs were left. Apparently one of the surfer dogs that hang out at the beach had a carb-loaded breakfast.

Enticing, very enticing. And I got to see a picture of your MASSIVE tent you've been raving about! Can't believe BJ can stand in it even. How fun that you met up with other like-minded peeps; I think these are the NP workers you told me about (and the future TA hiker??).
