Wrath of Grapes

June 1st-27th
It's been 6 weeks since I have been home. By home I mean with Shadow, Judy, and where ever Beulah is. Two weeks in the skies flying the rich and famous. Two weeks visiting friends and family. Two more weeks back at 41,000 ft. Today started in Miami at 5am and ends in Sacramento at 8 pm with Tallahassee, Teterboro, LaGuardia, and D.C in between.
Shadow made his way back to California after his family vacation in the Outer Banks, NC. We all had a great time catching up with everyone. He left Burbank and headed towards Paso Robles, CA a place in Southern wine country. I happened upon this place on one of my flights and just being there made me want to become an Olive farmer. Shadow had no choice, but to check it out.
After some convincing he did the unthinkable and attended his first wine tasting. For those of you that know Shadow, know that he is a beer snob and wine is "not his thing." But after an afternoon of bottomless glasses of grapes and 8 bottles of wine filling Beulah's pantry, there may be some changes to come.
While his foot is slow to heal, he has made the decision to give up is dream to qualify for the Boston Marathon. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement. It seems to be that one item that won't jump in the bucket. His eyes are still set for Mt. Rainier in September. Meanwhile the remodeling of Beulah (our RV) continues. We now have laminate wood floors in the living room and bamboo in the bathroom.
My set of 13 days off will be pack full of adventure as usual. For once, the planets have aligned and my sister and I will actually be within a 10 hour drive of each other. Most wouldn't consider that close, but for the Mills' girl, it is. At last I can meet my new nephew, Shredder aka Dingo.
