Free-Wheeling

October 3rd & 4th-
The wind calmed as the evening passed and Beulah settled in for the night. US12 guided us through the BitterRoot Wilderness winding along the Lewis and Clark NorthWest Passage to Lolo Pass. It was a beauitful drive on the two lane mountain road
following the beginnings of the Clearwater river full of fly fisherman and single stop sign towns like Syringa, ID. Traveling this way is freeing. With our house attached, any pull-off by the road can be a break for lunch or and overnight stop. I think that's one of the reasons I love being out West. It's big, open, wild, and free. Beulah glided down from Lolo Pass and into Missoula for the night. We were shocked to see so many other RVs lined up in the Walmart parking lot. Timing was perfect to watch the Presidential debate. After adjusting the mixture on the generator, we cranked up the rabbit ears and had chili dogs for dinner.
Last night we underestimated the low temperatures. Our heater ran our accessory battery down at some point overnight which made our home super cold this morning. Shadow jumped the generator started to get some heat and coffee going. I guess the Wild West has no intentions to help our trip. The forecast in Bozeman tonight is 21 degrees and 14 degrees tomorrow night in Yellowstone.
