Today Boogie and Karin took us on another amazing day hike. This time our hike was in the town of Faschina where Boogie's brother and Karin's sister live. The town is a small ski village in the mountains where the two of them run a hotel and restaurant. Yep, you read that right. Boogie's brother and Karin's sister are married.
We hiked up to Mt. Gatthorn with an amazing 360 degree view. This area is known for wildflowers that carpet the ground. Shadow and I joked today that this area reminds us of the movie Sound of Music. I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but no one knows about that movie here. It's an American made product. If there are any Austrians' that have seen the movie, just laugh and shake their head.
Along with adding 400 miles to our planned hike in Europe, we also bought a BMW motorcycle. Why would we buy a motorcycle when we are hiking? Good question. If we travel between Eastern and Western Europe we can stay 6 months. So after we complete both hikes and/or get sick of hiking, we will have transportation. Not sure where we will go. It really depends on what time of year we finish.
Heading out on the trail tomorrow. It's a 3 day hike to join the Via Alpina Yellow Trail.

Well, seeing BJ play Maria definitely bursts the Sound of Music bubble. Really amazing view - of the beemer, and the mountains are kinda nice too. This just gets better, guys! Looking forward to your posts from the trail.
I went to Austria for business years ago and am a BIG fan of the Sound of Music. There was a SOM tour taking us to all the hot spots. It is hilarious that Austrians are not super fans like Americans ...
