R&R

Day 15 started at 1AM when I heard rain drops on the tent. I woke BJ and jumped into the dark to grab all our things. The night before was a nice evening and Bj said he would have bet $1000 bucks that it wouldn't rain again so we hung our stuff out to dry...wrong. By the time I heard the rain, found everything in the dense fog, and threw it in the tent it was too late. We started another day in the rain. It's amazing how the weather dictates your life out here. The sky began to clear after lunch. We reached the tip of the ridge into Nantahala Outdoor Center and missed a great view due to low lying fog. On the way down to the river my sister Haley and her boyfriend Mike met us. We were so surprised to see them. Then welcomed us with pb&j sandwiches and vitamin water. After saying hello, they grabbed our bags and slacked packed the last 2.5miles for us.  We hung out that evening playing UNO , watching tv, and pigging out on pizza. We truly miss sitting in a chair to eat. A log is not the same.
Day 16 - Had a great day watching Haley and Mike practice for their upcoming competitions. Went to the outdoor shop and got some new shoes.  2 toe nails down, 8 to go. Ran some errands, ate a lot, and ready to get back on the AT. Thanks for a relaxing day Haley and Mike. We head out tomorrow for Fontana Dam (30 miles) and then the SMOKEY Mtns! I hear there is more rain in our future.
