Ramblin' Wreck

Many say that hikers go through a depression state after the trail.  We made little time for that.  After hiking 2,181 miles we added another 195.5 miles with our second year of the Tennessee Ragnar Relay.  Some how we convinced two of Shadow’s cousins to join in.
I feel so mature saying this, but life seems to work it’s self out.  After a some long discussions and major number crunching, we found our new home...on Craigslist...in Tallapoosa, GA.  Within 3 weeks of finishing the trail we were on our way to purchase a 1999 Class C RV.  That’s right, a Recreational Vehicle.  I don’t think either of us knew what we were getting into.  All we knew was that we missed the adventure of the trail.  It wasn’t exactly what I would call my parents proudest moments.  Both of their college educated daughters living in RV’s and traveling the country probably wasn’t in their master plan for us.  The RV was in good shape with only 16,000 miles.  Plus it has 2 slides.  A slide is where a wall actually moves outward when parked to give you more livable space.  We wrote a check and spent the evening celebrating with my sister and her boyfriend Mike in Chattanooga, TN in a Walmart parking lot.  They gave us a run down on the dummies guide to full-timing.  Which leads me into our first few lessons.
Lesson 1: Walmarts equal free parking.
Lesson 2: “high and wide”.  She said that those two words will help you survive while driving.
Lesson 3:  Full-timing is a term used for people living in their RV year round.
Lesson 4:  RV bathrooms are for number ones only...except in emergencies.

If an RV bathroom is only good for number ones, what good is an RV bathroom? Couldn't it be replaced with a 1 liter Mountain Dew bottle? And the freed up space used to store more beer?

Just a thought.
