Glen & Forrester Pass - Sierras

We did it!  Today we conquered the pass that made us turn around because of snow.  We kicked Forrester's butt!  Not only that, but our climb today also means that we have officially completed 1/2 of the Pacific Crest Trail!  Needless to say, we are on Cloud 9.
Our camp spot last night was 2 miles and 1,400 feet below Glen Pass (11,900feet) to make today easier.  There are only 10 miles that separate Glen and Forrester (13,200feet) and our goal was to climb both.  We knew the route after Forrester was smooth downhill, so the end of our day would be super easy.  The climb to Forrester was a long but we powered through the 3,500 vertical feet just after lunch.  It was nice to see the pass snow free this time.  Good for us.  Bad for California.

Deer on the trail this morning.
