Barefoot Backpacking

May 13th-
We left camp and headed up a ridge line with great views of where have been and where we are going. Lunch was on the other end at Ocean Beach before taking a beach walk. The day was short for a couple reasons. One we wanted to play with our new kite and two, we are heading inland for the next couple of days without good camp spots. Upon reaching the end of the beach we found a cove perfect for the tent. This remote section of sand had one person walking and one farm tractor. To our dismay there was not a breath of wind for the kite. I've never been to the beach without wind. Our evening entertainment was looking for sea critters in the tidal pools. Mostly sea urchins and hermit crabs.
