E5 Via Alpina Stage 27

Storms rolled through most of the night leaving our tent sopping wet the next morning.  A short mile and a half into town where our guide book has us catch a 1930's cable car down to the town of Bolzano.   If you are ever traveling Europe, the cable car or ski lift is a great thing to do.  Normally they are pretty cheap and it gives you an amazing view.  They also help you spot castles.  Bolzano is the biggest town our trail has gone through.  The streets were packed with scooters and bicycles.  The town must be the area's shopping destination.  A whole street dedicated to name brand stores.  Other streets were full of open-air markets.  Fresh produce, flowers, and local goods for sale.  We stopped at a cute place with street side tables for a pastry and coffee.  People watching is one of my favorite hobbies.
Shadow's aunt Nancy wants us to apply for the TV Show, The Amazing Race.  Well, today I felt like I was on the show.  There is no trail connecting this section to the next and our guide book says to take a bus.  We managed to find the bus station and grab a ticket.  The bus drivers in these areas are unsung heroes.  I have no idea how they can drive these big buses on tiny curvy roads.  Inches from the oncoming traffic and concrete walls of tunnels.  By the time we reached the town of Tires, the rain had started again.  After checking the forecast we decided getting a room at the local pizza place would be a good idea. The town grocery was closed during the middle of the day so we had to wait to resupply anyways.
