Today was a 10 mile day into Tirol, Italy. A town just outside of Merano. Palm trees and flowers mixed with apple orchards and vineyards. The town is home to 3 castles. One of which Ezra Pound called home for a while. If castles are your thing, this area is the place to be. Home to more castles per square kilometer than anywhere in Europe. The town is tastefully touristy. Mostly places to eat and sleep.
This isn't gross. Right?

I love castles!!! I'm thinking more and more this trail needs to be on our list ...
