Day 23 (continued)/Day 24 - Met up with a group of hikers and some of California's family for dinner last night at Smokie Mtn. Brewery. Little did we know, it was not only trivia night, but also karaoke night. After our group (The Dirty Hairys) won the trivia game with BJ's golf knowledge in a double points question, we decided to spend the winnings ($50 gift card) on beer. As the beer money ran out the lights dimmed, the music turned up, and Karaoke started. Mishka and Warbler jumped up and started searching for songs to sing. As the evening came to a close, not only was BJ up on stage, but California sang solo! They rocked it out! It's amazing how the trail is like Alcoholics Anonymous. Hikers run into each other in town after meeting on the trail. You don't know their real names, just trail names and what state they are from. You have a great time hanging out and you leave. Maybe you will see them tomorrow, maybe in 3 weeks up the trail some where. By the way, in the midst of the racing to beat the rain night before last we crossed our 200 mile marker!! Today is a chilled day doing laundry in our rain suits and maybe a trip to the aquarium after running (walking and trolley riding) some errands. Back on the trail in the morning.
