May 20th- The day started tough and ended tough. The first half was full of rocks. We have heard that Pennsylvania is like this to the point that hikers call it Rocksylvania. We came up on another hiker (Blue) yesterday that had slipped on a rock and is at the hospital for x-rays. Usually the rocks are slippery because they are wet and have moss or fungus growing on them. The second half of the day was filled with swollen creek crossings, hills, and beautiful Virginia farm land. We got a little confident today in finding a place to stay this evening. The guide showed no camping close so we stopped near water on a hill. Hopefully our tents won't slide downhill over night. We were too tired to continue on or care. Poison Ivy is out in full force. It's not a matter of if, but when we get it. Hoping for a better and easier day tomorrow.
