September 29 Mile 2125-
The rain held off through the night and surprisingly all day. The trail conditions were a dream. So smooth and mostly flat that we completed our goal distance by 4:30pm. This kind of day was needed after yesterday. As much as we love being out here, our bodies are have had enough. My right knee has some fluid around it and Shadow... Well, hugging Shadow is like hugging a skeleton. To make matters worse, we forgot to replenish our aspirin and vitamin I (Ibuprofen) before leaving Monson. Our fingers are crossed that the hostel tomorrow will have some.
Our camp spot sat perfectly by a babbling brook with a forest floor covered in soft pine needles. Country Mouse made fire tonight. Country Mouse made fire very well.
With 55 miles left in 4 days we are making the best of every moment.
