Mile 1993-
We woke to one of the coldest mornings we have had so far. It was 8 miles to Stratton, ME for our day off. We climbed to both Crocker Mountain peaks then a nice long flat to downhill into town. Shadows beard has gotten long enough to move in the wind and his mustache is starting to resemble a walrus. I hate for him to shave it because I think it helps hide his emaciated body.
Stratton is a two block town with one grocery, one general store, 3 restaurants, and 2 motels. One of the largest lakes in the state is here (Flagstaff Lake) and is centrally located to Sugarloaf Ski resort and many golf courses. The 740 mile Northern Canoe trail terminates here. Fall is in the air and the crisps temperatures are helping the leaves to change colors which hasn't helped my urge to move here. We are loving central Maine.
We spent some time searching for causes of my ammonia smell and found that I'm not eating enough carbohydrates and too much protein. Where's a Krispy Kreme store when you need one.
