Lady Dance with Mary Jane

September 6 Mile 1883.1-
Miles to go 298!!!
The rain started again this time it was around 5pm last night. Hoping it would quit overnight, we were disappointed when we woke to find that it didn't. Our last 13 miles of the White Mountains would be a flat out beating. The rain, the rocks, the rivers to ford. This leads me to lesson #873. When climbing a steep trail lean forward before looking up. If you simply look up to see where you are going, the weight of your pack will catch you of balance and you will fall backwards.
Our mileage has slowed through this area and next 60 miles due to difficulty. Over the last few days Shadow and I have taken some tumbles, but luckily no real harm just some scraps and bruises. Heading into Gorham for a well deserved zero. We received news from a couple (Mehow and Mishka) that is North of us that the 35 miles between Caratunk and Monson, ME is impassable due to flooding. They skipped this section and plan to come back after their summit to finish. Needless to say, we hope that won't be an issue for us.
