July 30 Mile 1474-
We woke to the smell of sausage and coffee this morning. It's so nice not to have Pop Tarts for breakfast. A group of father/sons were also guest last night. They are from NY having a "Boys to Men" weekend on the AT. They were being shuttled North and walking back to Kent. We crossed paths this afternoon where we fueled them up a hill with some jerky.
Our guide says that Conneticut is where we will start seeing more Southbounders (SOBO) and they were right. We've been seeing about 3-4 a day. Each of us exchange tidbits and trail secrets that are to come and wish each other good luck.
Conneticut so far has a well maintained trail. 4 miles of our hike today was along the a river bank watching fly fishermen and rock climbers.
Stopping early at a stealth campsite and maybe one tomorrow. 2 1/2 days to our next zero in Massachusetts!
